this is the way i see it:

between the economy and global warming and there being no one to blame, the whole world is headed down the toilet. the apocalypse is coming, so theres really no point in being angry or sad or crying while you type this, because we really should just enjoy life while its happening, you know?
i'd like it if all the buildings got torn down, and we just live in a beautiful vegetarian homeless anarchy. we should just give up. we really should. we've only got a few decades left, we might as well make the most of it, you know?
there was a guy who wrote a book a few hundred years ago. here is more or less a kind-of-sort-of-half-remembered-quote from the book that i think is very important to think about:
"if we assume that man has been corrupted by an artificial society, what is the natural state? imagine- walking up and down the forrest, without duties, without civilization, without speech."

i wish there was something we could just DO. i wish it was just, like, a choice:
do we do the wrong thing, or don't we? but its not. and it makes me confused and sad and scared.
ah, well. back to the drawing board.
