who's to say?

there is a fundamental problem in ethics and all opinions-says who?
this is probably why humans have invented god-a final place where the buck stops. but really-think about it. zoom way out into space and picture the planet earth. who's to say that it's wrong to kill people? people? but aren't they just thinking for their own benefit? nothing is definite, because there is no one decision-maker. there ARE no truths to be held self-evident, because who are we to make decisions? think of it this way- every adjective you can name is an opinion.
blue
cold
silly
affectionate
destructive
annoying
happy
depressed

says who?

SAYS ME, that's who. and everyone else. That's what our consciences are for, thats our morals. unfortunately, some people's are screwed up, marilyn manson, for example. but we feel it, on a purely scientific level, it's our brains telling us that this is wrong, our brain releasing the chemical that induces guilt, or the signal or whatever. it was put there by evolution for survival, and that is to stop the world from going to pieces, or more so than it already is, anyway.

but if there was a clear right and wrong that made scientific sense, wouldn't everyone agree on everything? and who says that its important to survive? what's the point?

no, i agree with the wizerdess. There is no actual right or wrong. Give me one right or wrong and I'll give you a reason why it isn't right or wrong.

i agree that there is no right or wrong. there is no definate. Life is a search for answers. Is it possible to accept that there are none, or is the purpose to go looking for them? I simply try and accept the indefinate.
